Evil On The Internet
The internet is a huge place and the technology that it allows can be used in an evil sense. There are ways, for example, using the version 5.0 browsers to make a popup window appear covering the whole screen, making it impossible to close unless you press CTRL + ALT + DEL and use the task manager to close it. The average user doesn't know that this is what's happening and can be stuck with a pornography ad instead of their usual desktop. Another thing that experienced programmers can do is make a window impossible to close.
To see an example of this, try to close this window. You can even try the back button. The window won't close until you logout.
Another problem with the internet is that it is extremely hard to censor. Anybody who wants to can set up a totally innappropriate site for anyone to visit.
Illegal game can be found by someone who is looking for them - and even someone who is not. Warez is a term applying to both legal and illegal software sites and someone who searches for it will find that the ratio of legal to illegal is something like 1:100.
The next stage of this presentation is to look at some examples of sites.
As you look through sites, notice the popup windows that load, distracting you from the content, the pornographic ads, and other such negative aspects.
If a site offends you, or you are shocked, simply hit the back button and close all of the popups. The window will close when you enter the next page.
Please don't stay at any of the sites. You may not enter and browse any of the sites with pornographic content, but look around the gothic and anarchic sites, as they do not show any such innappropriate content.
